Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My age is 37 years, and I am married. I am always anxious and have a fear of bad situations. I always fear that something terrible might happen to my family members. When I am alone at home, I overthink and cry sometimes that something may happen to my kids, who are normal and healthy. I was not taking any tablets and did not face any health issues. My husband is caring. How to control overthinking? I am not been sleeping properly for the past month. Please help.

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

You may have anxiety issues due to overthinking. It would help to stop your thinking; otherwise, your anxiety will worsen.

  1. You should do exercises daily for 30 to 45 minutes.
  2. You should do meditation for 20 minutes daily. It will stop overthinking and reduces anxiety.
  3. You should eat healthy home-cooked foods and avoid junk foods.
  4. You must drink enough water.
  5. It would help if you spent quality time with friends and family daily.
  6. It would help if you spent time on creative hobbies like reading good books, writing journals, painting, drawing, and learning new skills or language or musical instruments.
  7. You should take enough eight hours of sleep daily.
  8. It will help if you avoid tobacco or alcohol, or any substance abuse.

If you still have symptoms that persist after following the advise for four to six weeks, then you need to start medications for a short duration.

I hope that you get your answer.

Thank you.

Investigations to be done

I suggest you following investigations such as complete blood count, thyroid profile, vitamin B12, and vitamin D3.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
