Hello doctor,

Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern. It is an allergic rash (due to superficial fungal infection P.Versicolar). I suggest you do the following:
1. Apply Kevon (Ketoconazole) lotion 20 minutes before bath for 20 days.
2. Use Ketoconazole soap for a bath for one month.
3. Take a tablet Loratidine (Lactose Monohydrate, Loratadine) 10 mg once a day after breakfast for ten days.
4. Apply Miconazole cream twice daily for four weeks.
5. Avoid scratching and rubbing of lesions.
6. Keep your nails short.
7. Avoid activities that cause sweating.
8. Avoid direct sunlight exposure.
9. Take tablet AF (Fluconazole) 400 mg once only start immediately.
10. Wear loose comfortable thin cotton clothes.
I hope I have cleared your doubts.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Is this quite common and distinct to fungal infection?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Yes, it is a common fungal infection. The classical lesions are well-defined oval to round showing fine branny scaling. These are distributed in seborrheic-rich areas. It is caused by Malassezia furfur species of fungus. Malassezia species are a part of the normal flora of the skin. Infection sets in which they get converted into the parasitic mycelia form. The factors which predispose to this conversion are warm, humid environment, excess sweating, poor hygiene, steroid use, immunosuppression, and a malnourished state. Treatment is,
1. Apply Kevon and stay on lotion for 20 min before going to bathe for 20 days.
2. Tablet Fluconazole (400 mg) single dose once.
3. Tablet of Levocetirizine (Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride)5 mg at night after food for seven days or a tablet of Loratidine.
4. KZ (Ketoconazole) soap or Candid TV soap for a bath for one month.
5. Apply Abzorb dusting powder (Clotrimazole) immediately after bath for 1 month to control sweating.
6. It usually recovers in three to four weeks, skin tone may take several months to return to normal in a few cases.
7. Nothing to worry about, just keep the area clean and dry, and avoid activities that cause sweating.
8. Wear loose comfortable thin cotton clothes. Stay in a well-ventilated room or cool environment.
9. Avoid exposure to the sun and maintain proper hygiene.
I hope I have cleared all your doubts.
Thank you.
