I am a 30 year old male. I had a BMG (buccal mucosal graft) urethroplasty a week ago. Currently urinating with catheter due to pan-anterior urethral stricture. Are there any complications and risks associated with it?

The penile urethral stricture is a less common but serious and challenging surgical issue that urologists have to face. This surgery is usually challenging as there is scant tissue to cover the whole length of the urethra.
Also, as we know, the reason for penile strictures is usually inflammatory disease, so the results of surgical repair may be less than expected on the scale of satisfaction. It is due to the spongiofibrosis of the repaired tissue.
During the post-operative period, infections and breakdown of the repaired tissue are commonly seen as complications. But despite all these risks, this surgery is still going on very successfully throughout the globe. If there is a urinary tract infection, your physician may prescribe Nitrofurantoin (Macrodantin). Take cranberry juice to avoid infection.
