After PPP removal, some dark lines appeared on my penis. What are they?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 27 years old. Four months ago, I had the PPP removal along with CO2. Now, for the last 30 days, I have been noticing some dark lines on my penis head. Is that something to worry?

Thanks.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I have attached photos. But, in the photos it is not much visible. Actually, it is dark brown in color and at night, it looks black. It is spreading a little bit. It is not on the area where PPP was removed. Also, I have a little bit of redness due to irritation. What cream should I use? Is it normal for the lower half of the penis head to be more reddish than the upper half?

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

If you have any irritation on the same spot of pearly penile papule, then it can be post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. If you have not had any history of irritation on the same spot, then it looks like a collection of melanin like a mole and absolutely no reason to worry. No cream will help in reducing that. For the redness, I suggest topical Miconazole based cream at night time for 10 days. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her, and take the medicine with consent.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.
