Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been coughing and having running nose, sputum is light green with a distinctive taste while spitting. All this started with a headache and bad binge. Kindly help me with the next course of action.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query. Regarding a cough and cold, it looks like you have acute pharyngitis. Take tablet Levocetirizine 5 mg once a day for a runny nose. It causes sleepiness in some people so you can take it before bedtime. But if a runny nose is troublesome you can take it soon. Take syrup Ambroxol 1 tablespoon thrice a day for cough. Take tablet Azithromycin 500 mg once a day for five days. This is an antibiotic. So, please complete the course. Please do saline water gargles several times a day. Keep yourself hydrated. Drink plenty of fluids to keep yourself hydrated. For headache, take tablet Ibuprofen 400 mg as needed. Do not take more than four tablets in a day and make sure there is at least six hours gap between consecutive dose. For the vomiting, take tablet Pantop-D (Pantoprazole with Domperidone) twice a day. Eat light. I hope this helps. Thank you and take care. Regards.
