Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 27-year-old male and I never been sexually active. But I believe that I have penile phimosis. I do not have pain and I am unable to pull the foreskin below the head of the penis. How to treat it?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You are right and you should be able to pull your foreskin below the head of the penis. So, you have phimosis. It needs to be treated to lead a normal sexual life in the future. In phimosis, you are at a higher risk of contracting infectious diseases and you can transmit infections to your partner. You need to consult a urologist to treat it. Do not worry about phimosis and this is nothing rare.

The Probable causes

You have phimosis.

Investigations to be done

You need to have a visual inspection by a urologist.

Probable diagnosis

You are having penile phimosis.

Treatment plan

It needs to be determined by a urologist after doing a visual inspection.

Preventive measures

You need to have good hygiene under the foreskin. You can use a soft cotton swab during the shower.

Regarding follow up

Revert back after consulting a urologist.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
