Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am seven weeks pregnant. I have hypertension due to family history. My doctor prescribed me a tablet Labebet 100 mg, and I had a better outcome. But I was suggested to take a tablet Nicardia R 10 to reduce my blood pressure. So I have dizziness. Will it affect my baby?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Taking tablet Nicardia R 10 (Nifedipine sustained release) is completely safe during pregnancy. Initially, it might cause dizziness and headaches but will eventually improve after a few days. Hypertension is not safe during pregnancy. So increase the dosage of tablet Labetalol 100 mg (consult a specialist doctor, talk with him or her and take medicines with their consent) to control hypertension.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

How long should I continue the medicines?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You have to continue until the blood pressure becomes normal. So monitor your blood pressure frequently at home.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
