Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

After having intercourse with my husband, I had taken Unwanted 72 within 12 hours of intercourse. But, I missed my periods and got pregnant. Now, my question is will this ECP damage the fetus in any way? I also want to let you know that six months back, I had an abortion as my child was very low. Kindly suggest me, is it safe to continue my pregnancy with all these problems?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your history and understand your concerns. Yes, you can continue the pregnancy after taking I-pill as it will not be harmful to your baby. But, yes if you had an abortion within one year, it may affect your health. So, take proper healthy and nutritious diet. Kindly give more information about your abortion, if it was medical or surgical.

Hope you found it useful. Feel free to ask more information.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your answer.

My abortion was surgical. First, I had taken medicine by doctor consultation. After that, in the USG some part of the fetus was there. So, had to go with a surgical procedure. One thing I want to let you know is that I have a baby boy who is 15 months old. He stopped breastfeeding six months back and I started smoking after that (one cigarette daily). I do not get time to take my meals on time as I am working and the responsibility of the whole household chores is on me alone. So, please advice if I should continue my pregnancy or not.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You can continue your pregnancy but from now you have to quit smoking. As you are so overburdened with your job and family responsibility, you should think about this pregnancy continuation.

Hope you found this useful.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
