Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
During intercourse with my wife, I ejaculate the entire semen within two minutes. After ejaculation, the erection goes away. I am unable to understand how to maintain the longevity of the erection during the intercourse. Please guide next course of action.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have gone through your problem and understand your concern.
Premature ejaculation is quite a common problem.
There are two approaches to manage this problem
Now coming to the behavioral therapy, there are different methods you can try with your partner during sexual activity. These are difficult to explain here but you can find them online and can practice. These are
Medicines for premature ejaculation are SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors). SSRI as a class has side effects of delayed ejaculation so this side effect is used here as a therapeutic one.
I suggest you can either try Fluoxetine, Paroxetine, or Sertraline once a day.
Also, Dapoxetine can be used on an as and when required basis at least one hour before the sexual activity. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and with their consent take the above medicines.
First, try behavioral methods and continue using them as these techniques take time to show their effect.
Similarly, the drugs also take one to two weeks to show their effect. These drugs are prescription drugs.
Thanks and regards.
