Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Yesterday I went outside and had alcohol. Since then, there is an extreme burning sensation in my penis. It is burning while I am even urinating. It is constantly there. I drank seven to nine bottles of water but of no help. Earlier this used to happen maybe once in three months, even without alcohol, but used to go away in one to two hours. But this time it has been there for seven to eight hours.
Please help me.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern and will try to help you. Your symptoms are consistent with chronic prostatitis. It is the inflammation of the prostate gland which requires treatment with long-term antibiotics and alpha-blockers. Please do a semen culture. I suggest you take a tablet of Levofloxacin (antibiotic) 500 milligrams once daily and a tablet of Tamsulosin (alpha-blocker) 0.4 milligrams once at night for one month. In addition, I suggest you can take the tablet Celecoxib (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug) 200 milligrams twice daily for a month which is anti-inflammatory. Follow-up is required after one month of treatment.
I hope this has helped you.
Regards.
