Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had pudendal neuralgia for the past three months. This problem leads to impotence or erectile dysfunction. What should I do?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It is important to know what symptoms you have been experiencing with your pudendal nerve entrapment. There are a variety of symptoms, such as genital numbness, urinary incontinence, reduced awareness of defecation, and altered sense of ejaculation, which can hamper your sexual life. It depends on how much the nerve is compressed. Some people can manage with a couple of stretching exercises. If it is causing symptoms, then it is better to evaluate yourself by a neurosurgeon, as he can suggest medicines based on the level of nerve entrapment. Normally surgical decompression is the last resort. Most patients have mild symptoms and can be treated with analgesics and physical therapy. Otherwise, a new mode of treatment is radiofrequency. The doctor can guide you further after performing some physical examinations.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
