Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Two months back, my weight was 500 pounds. When I checked my weight today, it was 480 pounds, and currently, it is 474 pounds. I ate three meals today. I had a bowl of fruits and two mini muffins for breakfast, beans, rice, and a banana for lunch, and a vegetable soup with another fruit bowl for dinner. Also, I did not cut out a lot of sodium from my diet. Is it safe to lose weight at such a fast rate?

Kindly advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

The reason why most people fail to reduce their weight is due to a lack of consistency. You must do it slowly, set an achievable target, and be consistent. Start with losing around 1 pound per month. Losing weight fast is not recommended as it can cause severe nutritional deficiencies.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
