Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a red oval spot on the private part which appeared one week after having sex with my wife. I do not have any other symptoms. It is not sore or itchy. Is it serious, like an STD?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. I reviewed your picture (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). Seven days old protected sex will not give such symptoms—so there is no need to worry about STDs (sexually transmitted diseases).

It can be a bacterial or fungal infection. So I suggest you to follow the instructions mentioned below.

Apply ointment T-Bact (Mupirocin and Bromelain) and Doxy (Doxycycline) 100 mg daily for five days.

If itching is present, apply ointment Candid B (Clotrimazole) and tablet Cetzine (Cetirizine and Ambroxol) once at night.

Wash your genitalia every morning and night, and use normal water.

Do not use heavy pH soap.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I wanted to ask whether the change in color, shape, and size can indicate any other infection?

Kindly help.

Answered by Dr. Raveendran S R

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If you use condoms, you will not get syphilis, herpes, or warts. All these will show symptoms in one or two weeks.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
