Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My eyes stay red even if I sleep for more than seven hours. I consulted many doctors but the problem is not cured. They told me that my eyes are sensitive, and suggested to use cooling spectacles. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

There are many causes for the redness of the eyes mainly allergy, infection, inflammation, and dry eyes. Redness with itching indicates an allergy. Redness with pain, watery eyes, and decreased vision indicates infection. Redness with pain indicates inflammation. Redness with a foreign body sensation indicates dryness. If there is only redness then it is normal and can be due to slight exposure to dust, or air. Eyes may also be red in the morning. Stress may also cause redness. Blink a lot. Wash your eyes with fresh water. Use cold compresses. Use lubricating eye drops. These measures will help to keep your eyes healthy but they will not have any effect on redness (treating general redness alone is not necessary also). Having said that you should consult a local ophthalmologist for proper examination and treatment. I hope this will help you. Thanks and take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
