Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been traveling for two days. I was feeling scratchy in my arms and legs. Now, it looks like a mild rash, and sometimes, I feel scratchy. I tried taking Cetirizine hydrochloride. But there is no relief.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand the concern. As there is no attached photograph in the message, can you tell me what kind of rash you are talking about? Does it come and go? Please try to send a clinical picture of the affected area to help you better. Take care.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Yes, the itching comes and goes.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Is the itching occur more at night? Is it more common in the body parts? Does anyone in the family has a similar problem?

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Itching is more when I go to sleep and when I wake up. I have itching in my hand and thigh. No one in the family has a similar problem. I stay alone and keep myself clean. Were you able to see the pictures? Regards.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I can see the pictures of the forearm and not the others (attachment removed to protect patient identity). It looks like you have got scabies. It will be better if I can see well-focused and well-lit pictures other than the forearm too so that I can prescribe medicines.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I am attaching the pictures.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Thanks for sharing the picture. It looks like scabies only, which is caused by a mite Sarcoptes scabei. It is characterized by lesions in between fingers, genitals, and elsewhere. Night itching is common. It can spread by contact and clothes. Take the following medications. Apply Permethrin 5% cream below the neck and all over the body at night time, wash in the morning and repeat after a week. So take two creams. Take tablet Ivermectin 12 mg once per week for two weeks. Take tablet Levocetirizine 5 mg twice a day. Apply Cosvate G cream (Clobestol and Gentamicin) twice a day on those individual papules only. Wash all your clothes and bedsheets in warm water. Take Levocetirizine for two to three weeks as it takes time for the itching to subside completely. Take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
