Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

When I take the semen culture sensitivity test, the results show three types of gpc grown and my pus cells positive (scanty). What does it mean? I am so anxious about this, and my marriage is next month. I think I have been infected. I am so confused that I want to tell my partner before the wedding. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

No worries, you will be well with antibiotics. Just share your report with me so I will prescribe your medications. Then you will get well before your marriage.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Can you tell me the name of the disease that infected me? I am getting back pain all the time.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It is called chronic prostatitis, and I treat it with Ciprofloxacin 500 mg twice daily for four weeks. But if you show me the report will need to change the antibiotic accordingly.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have attached the files.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Thanks for sharing your reports (attachment removed to protect patient identity). The semen sample got an infection. You can start tablet Ciprofloxacin 500 mg twice daily for four weeks. No additional medications are required. The rest of the labs are normal. I hope you will get well. After four weeks of antibiotics, please follow with semen culture to make sure that you are clear.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

At the time of sexual intercourse, my penis is getting pain and cannot get an erection. I cannot do sex. My penis is inflamed and painful. Are there any medicines for that?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Infection and inflammation causing pain should settle with antibiotics. Penile pain will resolve in one week, but prostatitis needs four weeks. I do not advise pain medications, but you should avoid sex or even masturbation during treatment at least for two weeks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
