Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I feel tired all the time. I eat well and sleep well, yet I am in constant fatigue. I do not work out. I have been on antidepressants (SSRI) for a year and a half. I take Iron tablets, Ashwagandha, and Vitamin C regularly. My liver and kidney are healthy, and the results are normal when I take the CBC test. Kindly suggest an opinion.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

You are slightly overweight, and I would like to know if you snore at night. Kindly tell me which SSRI (Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) you are taking. Do you have any thyroid issues, depression, or mood swings? How are your Vitamin D3 and B12 levels?

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

The data is a bit old, and my current weight is 85 kg. Also, I snore heavily. I am on Paroxetine 12.5 mg. And my thyroid function is normal. I had severe depression a year and a half ago, but the Paroxitine fixed it. I have a few mood swings, but it is not a serious issue. I drink beer on weekends but in large doses, around ten cans. I do not know about vitamin D3 and B12, but I can do the tests. So, kindly give me your opinion.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern. In that case, I suggest you to read about snoring and tiredness. Snoring is linked to tiredness and sleep apnea. If possible, I suggest you to get a sleep test done. In addition, I suggest you to take Modafinil (analeptic drug) tablet in such circumstances.

I would also suggest you to get your Vitamin D3, and B12 tested.

If you have any further queries, please feel comfortable to ask me.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

I will do the vitamin B12 and D3 tests and get back to you. And, regarding Modafinil, when should I take it, and shall I stop it on weekends when I am drinking? Kindly suggest your opinion.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I suggest you to visit your doctor in person and then take the medication.

I usually suggest taking this drug after breakfast in the morning. So, if you are consuming alcohol at night, you have no problem taking it in the morning.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor, I started modafinil a week ago, I sleep better and I feel slightly active, however I feel that my heart rate has been elevated, especially after eating. This occurs to me occasionally but recently I think this elevations is more than the normal. Please advise
Heart Rate is unlikely to increase from Modafinil. If it is more then 100 beats per minute, then let me know.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
