Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am on the last day of my first trimester and I was experiencing water-like discharge yesterday as if I am about to start periods. I had intercourse five to six days before this. Is this normal during this phase of pregnancy? I am experiencing an itching on my outer labia and the skin is removed slightly. What can I apply?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

From the short history, I feel this is a vaginal infection. You should have got it from that act of sex a few days ago. As a prevention, I would advise you not to have penetrative sex until the end of pregnancy. Infection from sex can also trigger a bleeding and early labor pains. For this infection, you can have antibiotics like tablet Azilide (Azithromycin) 500 mg once a day before food for three days and tablet Taxim-O (Cefixime) 200 mg twice a day for five days. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and start taking the medicines with their consent. Also, keep vaginal suppositories capsule Clingen-Forte (Clindamycin, Clotrimazole and Tinidazole) or Candid-CL or Cansoft CL once at night for a week. You can have a local wash with V Wash or Intiwash twice a day for a week. Better treat it fast to prevent a trigger of pain or bleeding.

Do not worry. There will not be any problem. Hope I have clarified your query. All the best.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

As long as you have no medical or obstetric complications, the pregnancy will proceed uneventfully. Just pray well till the end. After all, pregnancy is not a disease. So, why would complications arise without a reason.

You both will do fine. All the best.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
