Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been married for three years and I am 27 years old. However, since the beginning of our marriage, our sex life has not been normal. My husband lacks interest in having sex and claims that he has no desire for it. He is now 32 years old and the situation is still the same. Initially, I thought his workload might be the cause, but I later discovered several adult films in his bag. One day, I caught him watching one of them. When confronted, he explained that he becomes tired during regular intercourse and is unable to ejaculate inside the vagina. He relies on his own hand for pleasure through masturbation but does not derive satisfaction from sex with me. I suggested that he consult a doctor or psychologist, but he is unwilling to do so. I am seeking advice on what I can do, even though I understand that it is already late. I want to overcome this problem, have a healthy sex life, and also start a family. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

The following steps can be considered:

  1. It seems that his condition may be related to stress or anxiety, so it would be helpful for him to focus on relaxation techniques and engage in regular exercise.

  2. However, in order to rule out other potential causes it is advisable to conduct a few blood tests such as Hb (hemoglobin), TC (total count-total count of white blood cells), DC (differential count-differential count of white blood cells), sugar PP (sugar postprandial), prolactin, TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone), and testosterone.

  3. If he smokes, it would be beneficial to quit smoking.

  4. Additionally, checking his blood pressure is important.

  5. If he is taking any medication or nutritional supplements regularly, it is possible that the issue is a side effect of those.

  6. If he experiences general weakness, it may also be beneficial to test for vitamin D levels.

Based on the test results, a suitable treatment plan can be determined. It is important to emphasize that seeking medical help is nothing to be ashamed of, as healthcare professionals frequently encounter patients with similar concerns.
