Hi doctor,

I got a small pimple (had a little white on top) two days after sex with some random person. Now the white part is gone but it left a little red scar. Is it just a pimple or does it indicate some STD like syphilis maybe? But it has been only two days.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern

I reviewed the image that you provided (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). Usually, a sexually transmitted infection takes more than seven days to show symptoms.

If there was unprotected sex one needs to think of sexually transmitted infections. You can go for the following tests.

1. TPHA (Treponema pallidum haemagglutination) test.

2. HPV (human papilloma virus) DNA PCR test.

3. Herpes simplex virus (HSV) one and two serum IgG.

4. HSV one and two serum IgM.

5. Chlamydia trachomatis IgG.

6. HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) one and two antibodies screening tests.

7. HbsAg (hepatitis B surface antigen).

8. Urine complete.

If you had protected sex, it can be a simple bacterial infection. You can use the ointment T Bact for local application and the tablet Doxycycline 100 mg twice a day for 5 days. And if there is itching you need to think of a fungal infection for which you can use the ointment Candid B for local application and the tablet Cetirizine once a night.

Make sure you wash your genitalia twice a day morning and night and avoid too cold or too hot water. Do not use heavy pH soap.

Hope this helps.

Thanks and take care.

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

So you would say it is not STD (since it has just been two days and not more than seven days)? What about zinc ointment? What would you say based on the images? The sex was protected but there was some rubbing and touching.

Hello,

Welcome back to iclinq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

It can be a friction injury. Use T Bact ointment it will help heal and prevent infection. But it is too early to give a diagnosis with this picture (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). If you had protected sex then no need to worry about STI (sexually transmitted infection).

Hope this helps.

Thanks and take care.
