Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have had a rash-like thing around my bikini area for the past five days. However, I am unaware of any rash appearance. Instead, it is extremely itchy and flaky. There are also some red dots on it, and a blackish color surrounds the background. Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern. Tinea cruris (a fungal infection that causes a red and itchy rash in warm and moist areas of the body) is caused by dermatophytes. Apply one percent Luliconazole cream at night for six weeks. Apply Terbinafine cream during the daytime for six weeks. Take a tablet of 5 mg of Levocetirizine at night after food for 14 days. Wash the affected area with Ketoconazole two percent wash or soap for two months. Apply Clotrimazole dusting powder after bathing for a month.
Avoid scratching and rubbing lesions as they may cause secondary bacterial infection and the spread of fungal infection. Keep your nails short and the area clean. Maintain proper hygiene. Avoid activities that cause sweating. Wear loose, comfortable, thin cotton clothes or undergarments. Moisture, heat, occlusion, and friction all promote fungal growth. Maintain a well-ventilated and cool room environment. Keep an eye on your blood sugar levels.
I hope this helps.
Please revert so I can assist you further.
Thank you.
