Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 21 years old female. I want to use Glutathione for skin whitening. So I want to know whether 1000 mg Glutathione is safe for the body or not. Will taking 1000 mg Glutathione daily show any side effects? If yes, then what type of side effects will it be? Will it affect my menstruation? Well, my health is good. Sometimes, my heart feels uneasy and my knee aches a bit but apart from that I am fit.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Glutathione is a natural product and for maximum efficacy, it is given intravenously. However, it is impractical to get intravenous every day hence oral Glutathione is given widely. Ideally, it is given 500 mg twice daily but 1000 mg per day can also be given along with Vitamin C. The side-effects are minimal when taken orally. Though FDA has not approved this product, it is widely consumed in some parts of the world. But remember one thing before you start the treatment, this effect will be present until the pills are consumed. Once you stop, you will return to your normal color.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
