My sleep has been all over the place lately, and I am feeling drained. I am a working woman of 40, and this is affecting my work. Is this just a normal phase, or could it be something like insomnia? Actually, a healthy person should sleep 6 to 8 hours a day, and good sleep comes from a good diet and exercise. If a person is feeling drained all the time, it could be an issue with hormones, so I would suggest checking your thyroid function test and CBC (complete blood count) levels. After that, if there are any hormone deficiencies, we can treat them accordingly. Normally, to maintain bodily function, you should have a healthy diet, including green vegetables, soups, juices, and plenty of fluids throughout the day. You should also engage in regular exercise. If you cannot do heavy exercises, then normal jogging, running, and yoga are fine. It would be best if you could do a few minutes of meditation daily. By doing these things, you can improve your sleep cycle, and everything should be fine. If it still does not improve, we can explore further treatment options.
