Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I feel like being overweight is making me shy, depressed, and anxious. I do not like to socialize because I feel like what I am saying is stupid and just embarrassing myself. I tried diets, but they did not work. I tried having gastric surgery, but with my insurance, it would be too expensive. I also feel like this makes people look at me in an embarrassing way. I do not know what to do. Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

You see, the only person you should care about is yourself. Yes, you require therapy for your morbid obesity, for which you must see a professional, but no matter the circumstances, it is unfair to punish yourself. Stressing out will not make your weight problem go away; it will only make it worse. Please do a self-rating social anxiety disorder exam, such as SPIN (mention the full form doc), which is simple to find online, and if the results are indicative of SAD, visit a psychiatrist in person. The following actions can also be helpful: Maintain a regimen, exercise frequently, and consume a balanced diet. At least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise three times a week is beneficial.

I hope this has helped you.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
