Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Occasionally, I have a dry cough and a tickle in the throat on the right side of the neck to my ears. My MRI showed a mass on the right side of the thyroid. I have done a fine needle aspiration. The result showed a benign soft tissue mass. It was taken before three months. Now I have a cough with a tickle in my throat. Occasionally, I have pain in my ears. Do I need to consult another doctor? I have a freeT4 of 1.29 pmol/L and TSH of 0.95 mIU/L.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern. Regarding neck swelling, there is no evidence of malignancy and so there is nothing to be worried. As your blood thyroid levels are normal without medications, then there is nothing to be worried. Cough and throat pain does not occur due to neck swelling. Cough can occur due to mild infection or allergy or reflux. I suggest you follow this medication to get cured. You can take tablet Amoxicillin 500 mg twice daily after food for five days. Take tablet Levocetirizine 5 mg once daily before sleep for seven days. Take tablet Pantoprazole 40 mg once daily before breakfast for seven days. You can take syrup Guaifenesin 10 ml thrice daily.
