Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

A mild throat infection should not be neglected, as it can worsen and cause unnecessary discomfort. When choosing the appropriate antibiotic, it is important to consider your medical history, including recent antibiotic use, the presence of fever, purulence of sputum, and systemic symptoms.

If you have a mild sore throat with a low fever and no excessive cough or other systemic symptoms, Azithromycin may be effective. However, for severe infections with systemic symptoms, high-grade fever, and difficulty swallowing, a broad-spectrum antibiotic like Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid, taken three times daily for seven days, may be necessary. Therefore, selecting the appropriate antibiotic depends on clinical judgment and the presenting symptoms.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
