Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have extracted my upper wisdom teeth four days back. I have a mouth sore after a tooth extraction. Is it normal, or should I consult a doctor? Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Usually, after impactions, the patient will feel discomfort, pain, and swelling in that region. I suggest you continue the antibiotic and pain killers for one more day, which is five days of antibiotics and pain killers. Then give warm pack massage extra orally three times a day every five minutes. Do not spit saliva forcibly and avoid sleeping that side. Use mouth wash, do salt and warm water gargling and do mouth opening and closing exercises slowly. The discomfort will gradually reduce. If the pain is increasing or still the same even after ten or 14 days after extraction, then I would suggest you take an intraoral picture of that socket region, and you can consult me for further queries.

I hope this helps.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
