Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I took sperm analysis and the result says poor sperm count. Can I conceive or not? Please help.

Answered by Dr. Sameer Kumar

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

From the reports attached (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity), the sperm morphology indicates teratozoospermia. Also, the sperm count should be more than 100 million, but your sperm count is low, so there is less chance for natural conception. However, other sperm parameters are within normal limits as per WHO (world health organization) guidelines for IVF (in-vitro fertilization) standards. Therefore, I suggest IVF with ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection), antibiotics, sperm energizers, and anti-oxidants for at least three months to conceive sooner.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
