Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been suffering from a stomach ulcer for five months. I started taking Amoxicillin, Clarithromycin, and Omeprazole, but my stomach hurt so much that I stopped taking the Clarithromycin and Omeprazole but continued taking Amoxicillin for one month. Since stopping Amoxicillin, my condition has deteriorated further, and I am unable to eat or drink due to constant stomach pain. What antibiotics (with fewer side effects) and in what dosages may I take alongside with Rabeprazole to heal my ulcer?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

First and foremost, I recommend that you get adequate medical attention. To begin, I recommend that you discontinue the antibiotics that you are not tolerating. Drink lots of water, avoid greasy and spicy meals, chew food thoroughly and take tiny portions, and avoid resting in bed for three hours after eating.

I recommend that you take the following medications:

Capsule. Dexlansoprazole (proton pump inhibitor) 60 mg daily before breakfast for one week, tablet . Itopride (prokinetic benzamide) 150 mg daily before supper for one week, and syrup. Gaviscon (calcium carbonate) 2 tablespoons three times after every meal for one week.

I recommend that you carefully follow the directions and do an evaluation after a week.

Revert with the answer to assist further.

Thank you and take care.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have already taken Famotidine 40mg tablet in place of Dexlansoprazole for today, therefore I am not taking Dexlansoprazole today, but can I take the other two medications today for relief as i am in an extremely painful condition and continue with all of your advised drugs from tomorrow on?. Also I get an awful odor in my mouth and a burning feeling in my stomach, which goes away when I stop taking Norflox-tz. Can I take Norflox-tz with the three medicines you have prescribed?

kindly help

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

The Tab.Dexlansoprazole is superior to Tablet.Famotidine. So, instead of Tablet.Famotidine, I would recommend switching to Tablet. Dexlansoprazole. You may also start using Tablet.Mebeverine (colofac) twice a day for additional symptoms.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

I am experiencing continuous heartburn even after taking Famotidine. I am uncertain whether it is due to acid or bacteria. I consistently feel the need to defecate and experience a feeling of fullness even after consuming a small banana. Could you please inform me if any of your medications may cause loose motions? Additionally, if possible, provide alternatives that do not have this side effect. Does Mebeverine induce loose motions, and should it be taken before or after food?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Mebeverine does not induce loose motions and can be taken before a meal. If symptoms persist, consider getting checked for stool H. pylori (Helicobacter pylori) antigen.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

I received a Mebeverine capsule. Is it the same as the Mebeverine tablet?

Please assist.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, dear, it is the same.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
