Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 30-year-old female, and I have been experiencing stomach pain in the upper area after eating pizza that contains mushrooms. This has never happened before, but it has occurred in the past two or three instances. I am unsure if it is an allergy or something else. Could it be related to mushrooms, as I generally do not use them in other recipes? Please help, as I am genuinely concerned.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Yes, mushrooms can be poisonous at times, and such stomachaches may be attributed to that. I would recommend refraining from eating until the discomfort subsides. Some mushrooms can harbor fungal infections, leading to stomach upset and pain. Additionally, such pain may be associated with acidity, so I suggest opting for light meals and avoiding spicy and heavy junk foods like pizza and burgers. Ensure to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. If the pain persists, I recommend taking one tablet Pantoprazole 40 mg before meals for three days.

I hope your queries are resolved and any further queries are welcome. Thank you.
