Hello doctor,

I am 32 years old. My hands are very tan, dark, dry, and itchy. I have this in my whole body. Please suggest sunscreen for my hands and to clear my dark skin as I am getting married in two months.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Tanning from sunlight needs a few weeks to fade. People having type 4 skin produce more melanin on exposure to sunlight. Tanning is a kind of protection from the sun so that we do not burn.

To remove this sun tan and avoid further exposure to sunlight, I suggest using sunscreen with SPF 50 and Suncros tint sunscreen. Apply sunscreen 30 minutes before stepping out and repeat applying every 4 hours. Sunscreen provides protection for 3 to 4 hours. Hence, need to apply repeatedly. Use Kojic acid, Glycolic acid, and Arbutin combination cream (it comes by the name Demelan cream) for dark areas at night.

Please attach your clinical picture along with your query so that it is convenient for me to comment on your condition and give you appropriate suggestions.
