Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My upper jaw is stuck and I am unable to close my mouth. Do you have any advice?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. It is known as a lock jaw. It can occur if you suddenly open your mouth too much while yawning, singing or in case of a trauma. You need to visit a dentist for the proper management. It is not advisable to be done by a non-qualified person. Visit a professional dentist. Be relaxed in an upright position. The professional must put his thumb on the lower molars, apply pressure and displace the lower jaw downwards first, then backward and lastly upwards. It is simple, but do not try it yourself. It may cause your muscles or ligaments to tear. Also, you do not need to worry much because it takes only a minute to be reduced and does not involve any invasive procedure.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
