My jaw is stuck and I am unable to close my mouth. What should I do?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have tremors in my hands whenever I apply force or hold an object with some pressure. I want to become an oral and maxillofacial surgeon or orthodontics. Can I become a dentist despite these tremors? Can the tremors be reduced?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

There are many causes for tremors, during student life it is very common because of anxiety and tension. It can also be due to abnormal thyroid level or hypoglycemia. First of all, try to reduce your anxiety or tension and get a proper medical checkup including, ECG (electrocardiogram), thyroid profile and complete blood test and follow the treatment afterward.

I hope this helps.
