Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been feeling tired most of the time with a sore throat that lasted for over nine months. Now, one of my testicles (left) has been painful for the past two weeks, and my health, in general, is not good. I am not taking any medication. What could be the reason?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your concern and will help you. I want to tell you that sore throat and left ball pain is not linked. They are two separate entities. Now, because these diseases occur in Continuum, you have generalized poor health. You said the sore throat is over, but the pain in the testicles is still there. It is orchitis (infection of the testicles). I would suggest an antibiotic, Cefixime clavulanate 325 mg twice daily for seven days. You need to ensure there is no pus collection within the testis by getting a testicular ultrasound. Once you get the ultrasound done, you can follow up with the report. For pain, I would suggest tablet Tramadol 50 mg as and when required. You will feel much better. Once you recover from this illness, your general health will also improve.

I hope this helps.
