Hi doctor,
I was chewing fennel and after a few minutes I felt that it has stuck in my throat (upper side), I am not sure if it was stuck or not, because I got a sore throat after that,so I thought it might be because of that. I went to the doctor (ENT) and he checked my throat and he did not find anything, he told me that I have a little swelling in my throat, and gave me some medicines, and told me that if I will feel good after the medicine, then no need to come, otherwise we will do CT scan. The medicines he has given me are as follows:- 1. Capsule Panraloc two times daily for five days. 2. Tablet Macpred (4mg) two times a day for seven days. 3. Tablet Odimont-AL. 4. And something for gargling. As he told me tablet Macpred is a steroid, so I thought I should take a second opinion.

I am here to provide expert opinions on your medical issues. You are probably suffering from pharyngitis only. If fennel would have been there, the inflammation must be focal. You should take an antibiotic instead of steroids that are not required in a condition like yours. Even if it is an allergic response to fennel, the tablet Odimont is enough. Also, take the following: 1. Tablet vitamin C once daily. 2. Tablet Zerodol SP (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) twice daily. Take all for five days. 3.
