Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am having a lot of pain on my upper right side with a broken tooth. The pain is going up in my face to my head. Could you tell me what I can do? I have been taking Tylenol for pain.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
You need not worry. Your chief complaint suggests pain in the upper right back region which is due to a carious tooth (attachment removed to protect patient identity). So as far your emergency is concerned, you are advised to use following medications: Amoxicillin-Clavulanic acid 625 mg TDS for five days, tablet Zerodol SP (Aceclofenac 100 mg plus Paracetamol 325 mg + Serratiopeptidase 15 mg) BD for three days but after food to avoid impact on stomach, take tablet Pantoprazole 40 mg OD for seven days, tablet Ketorolac 10 mg SOS. Place this tablet under tongue it will relieve your pain immediately. This is for emergency treatment.
To address this problem properly, I suggest you after taking medication, go to the nearby dentist for restorative procedure or extraction. You are advised to take following precautions to prevent pain like salt gargles twice, do not bite on hard objects or use sugar-rich drinks for next one week. Keep mouth clean and rinse after eating so that food cannot lodge in the broken tooth.
