Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am unsure if I entered the woman I had unprotected intercourse with for one minute. After one month of that encounter, I got a fever, mouth sores, cold, and diarrhea that resolved within a few hours without any medications. I did my HIV tests after one month of that encounter, and the tests were negative. After a while, I again got a fever and cold that got well within a few days with medication at home after four months of that encounter. Six months after that encounter, I got pimples on my face, shoulders, and neck that got well within a few days without medication. I also got acne on my cheeks and a mouth infection due to a yeast infection that resolved within two days without medicine. So, after six months and three weeks, I repeated the HIV test and tested for syphilis and gonorrhea. All the tests were negative. I have small pimple-like colonies in my mouth, and I have had one nostril blocked all the time in the past. I also get mucus when I sit in a cold room for a long time, and sometimes feel back pain. Should I test again? My previous HIV test results are negative. Four months before my second HIV test, I had sex once after my last encounter, and it was with protection. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have read the query, and I can understand your concern.

Do not be concerned; your test results were negative, and your symptoms either went away alone or were treated with medication. The symptoms of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) or STD (sexually transmitted disease) are not self-limiting. It is impossible to test negative during the fourth or twenty-ninth week with this infection. Consult an ENT (ear, nose, throat) specialist if you have oral problems. I do not think you have an HIV or STD infection, but I suggest you test for HCV (Hepatitis C).

I hope this will help you.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
