Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

The frequency of urination and thirst has increased from the last two to three days all of a sudden. Sometimes it is two to three times even in an hour.

I am a 29-year-old male. I regularly do HIIT exercises two times a day.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

As you described the complaints, you seemed convinced that it is due to HIIT (high-intensity interval training) only. But there could be many more factors associated with it. To know the cause and prescribing further treatment I need to evaluate your case better.

How much is your daily fluid intake approximately and what is your regular dietary routine for your HIIT? Since when you are doing HIIT? Do you feel heat in the sole? Any difficulty in urination? Any symptoms of headache or any other condition?

Let me know in the follow up about the above questions.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I felt this for two days last week and again from yesterday. I am doing this workout since the last seven to eight weeks. The water intake daily is around 3 liters. Before lockdown, I was doing a morning run with a moderate speed of around 9-11 kmph for the last three years. No difficulty in urination. No headache and I just feel low energy and tired when I urinate many times. Also, I am feeling a little pain in the area between the stomach and penis.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It is very acute symptoms as you have presented and you did not mention the dietary routine. But as far as I can relate it is mild dehydration. Or could be due to some minerals deficiency but that is too early to say since you are having symptoms now only. Our body needs ions to hold the water in the tissue, lack of which leads to loss of water from the body which increases our thirst further.

I would suggest you to start your day with warm water and eat fruits like watermelon and muskmelon along with plenty of cucumbers as these fruits contain water and minerals in adequate amount. And also keep an ORS (oral rehydration) solution ready and replace your water with it during the workout.

I do not think you will be needing any medication for now but if it persists for more than 15 days let me know.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
