Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

For over two years now, it seems like I am constantly experiencing UTI pains and symptoms. The worst part is that there is a very painful stinging feeling that just comes and goes throughout the day sometimes and it is so painful that it is hard to walk sometimes. I am not sexually active and I have been treated for UTIs many times but its always temporary fixes. I have also been tested for BV and it was negative. I experience other things like bloody discharge, frequency, burning when urinating, etc. I do not understand why this is almost constant in my life since I make sure to take care of myself to try and prevent this but it seems as if nothing works. I am currently on birth control pills.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I fully understand your problem and I will surely help you.

If you are having recurrent UTI (urinary tract infection), did you get a urine culture done? If there is bloody discharge, have you ever been checked for kidney or bladder stones? Have you ever had your ultrasound scan kidney and urinary bladder region? If you are not sexually active, why are you on birth control pills?

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I do not think I have had any of those done and I am on birth control because I do have plans to be sexually active and it also helped to clear up my skin a bit. I started it hoping it would help with this if it had to do with imbalanced hormones but it has not changed anything.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

UTI is a distressing condition. See you need to get a urine routine examination and urine culture. It will tell us which organism is growing in your urine and its antibiotic sensitivity. Also, I hope you are not diabetic and have been checked for the same. Have plenty of oral fluids. Avoid holding up of urine for a long time. Take urine alkalinizing agents like Alkasol (Disodium hydrogen citrate). Antibiotics can be started according to the urine culture report.

I hope this helps.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
