Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 50 year old female, who weighs 65 kg, and I am 5 feet tall. I had a urine test, which showed 200 pus cells, RBC 2 to 3, protein 2 to 3, and urine culture showed E.coli. I am suffering from fever, high blood pressure, and high sugar level. My face is swollen, and sometimes my feet are also swollen. I also have pain my legs and arms.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

  • You have diabetes, high blood pressure, and probably some heart condition, for which you need an echocardiogram to confirm. These are your baseline diseases.
  • Now, the current issue is urinary tract infection, due to which you have pus cells. You should also undergo an ultrasound of the kidneys to know whether this infection has reached kidneys or not. Also, you should undergo total leucocyte count to know the severity of infection in the blood.
  • In treatment, you should start antibiotics. You will also need medicine called as diuretics or water pills for swelling.

Hope this clears your doubt and get back if you have any doubts.
