Can intercourse increase abdominal pain caused by UTI?

Hi doctor,

My partner and I had intercourse after I got UTI. The infection was detected through urine culture, and I took tablet Cefixime and tablet Ofloxacin for 15 days. I do, however, have slight lower right abdominal pain. My ultrasound did not reveal any kidney stones or appendices.

Kindly guide me.

I have reviewed the reports (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). It is UTI (urinary tract infection), a pseudomonas infection. Since UTI is frequently seen in sexually active women, the pelvic inflammatory disease may also be present.

Therefore, using the tablet Ciprofloxacin for a longer period will be beneficial. Take tablet Ciprofloxacin 500 mg daily for ten days. You can also take a tablet of Cranberry supplements and take one tablet per day. Also, I suggest you have one pack of yogurt per day. Kindly follow up after ten days.
