Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a urinary tract infection. I have been having pain in my bladder when I urinate. This is a recurring issue. I have had three infections since the start of the year. I am taking cranberry tablets. I need a prescription for antibiotics. Is this possible?

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

You probably have a urinary infection. I can give you the following recommendations:

1. Drink plenty of water. Water will dilute your urine and flush out bacteria.

2. Avoid drinks that may irritate your bladder, like coffee, alcohol, and soft drinks containing citrus juices or caffeine, until the infection has cleared. They can irritate your bladder and tend to increase the need to urinate.

3. Apply a warm, but not hot, heating pad to your belly to help with bladder pressure or discomfort.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.

Investigations to be done

Please do a complete blood count, C-reactive protein, complete urinalysis, and urine culture (microbiology).

Treatment plan

Urinal Akut (cranberry capsule) in the morning and in the evening with a lot of water for five days. After you finish the package, you can have another round if symptoms persist or switch to plain Urinal three capsules daily for 30 to 40 days. I cannot send you an antibiotic prescription online. If the pain is intense, visit the doctor or book an appointment with an on-site urologist.

Preventive measures

Drink a lot of water, stay warm, and make sure you are well-dressed.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
