Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been taking antibiotics for about two years now for my acne and recently (the past month) I have been having excessive discharge and I do not know if they are related but it is to the point where I have to wear a panty liner everyday. There are no other side effects like itchiness or pain or anything. It is just annoying. What should I do?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Two years you have taken antibiotics which is really not very suitable for the whole body generally. Recurrent antibiotics could give resistance to it and the body starts to respond it slowly and then gradually develops resistance as the intake is continued. Recurrent antibiotics can harm normal flora of different body parts actually including vagina than organs prone to infection easily. Genetically, on stress, excitement, ovulation, fertilization, implantation secretion could increase. Have one vaginal swab to exclude any infection. Collect report and discuss here. Strict hygiene. Avoid unnecessary medications. Have mud mask for acne. Use condoms for sex to avoid sexually transmitted infection. Have soft comfortable undergarments. Can have sitz bath for irritation.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
