Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 31-year-old female with a weight of 62 kgs and a height of 5'5 ft. I have been facing an issue of vaginal yeast infection since I got typhoid with urine infection before three years. Since then, it has been recurring every two to three months. Usually, it normalizes after a few days by itself. I have itchiness, white clumpy discharge, discomfort, redness, vaginal thrush, etc. I got my periods in between, but it got better during periods, and now it again feels a bit itchy. I am not taking any medicines for it. Can you please suggest a permanent solution for this?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your problems. Recurrent yeast infection might need prolonged therapy with antifungals. You can send me details of the previous treatment you have taken to guide you further for treatment. Meanwhile, I suggest vaginal probiotics (locally available at the drug store).
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Thank you doctor,
I took a syrup for a urinary infection two years back. After that, I have not taken any treatment or medication for this particular issue, but I started facing this again after typhoid. Other than this, I do not have any health issues. Please help.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern, but it is difficult to know whether it is a yeast infection as it can also be trichomoniasis.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Thank you doctor,
My infection is not trichomoniasis because, as per my research, that is strictly a sexually transmitted disease, and I have not been into any sexual activities for the last two years. I am getting a white clumpy cottage cheese-like discharge, no smell, and creamy whitish coating in and around the vagina. Besides that, the release is not frothy or yellowish-green in color. I have seen the pictures of both kinds of discharge, and I can figure out that this is a yeast infection and not trichomoniasis. What can I do? Please advise.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Then, in that case, I suggest you tablet Fluconazole 150 mg once a week for four weeks. Also, insert Clingen Forte (Clindamycin, Clotrimazole, and Tinidazole) vaginal pessaries at bedtime for seven days (once daily). I hope this helps.
Thank you.
