Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am sexually active for the past four months. There is itching in my vagina for the past two days. It does not appear red or swollen. This has never happened before. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

The itching could be because of a wet genital area (usually because of sweat). It could also be because of some minor infection. As per the description you have given, there is no need to visit a doctor right now. I suggest you do the following-

  1. Keep the area clean and dry.
  2. Change your undergarments twice a day.
  3. Wash your genital area with a soft cleanser.
  4. Keep the pubic area shaved.
  5. Use Candid powder (Clotrimazole), as it will help you if there is any infection and keep the area dry.

Hope this information helps you.
