Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have mild pain in my right lower leg and spondylosis. Kindly help me out with the medicine prescribed by my doctor. I want to understand which medicine is used for what purpose. See the prescription attached.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through the prescriptions (attachment removed to protect patient identity).

  1. Injection Arachitol is Vitamin D injection and for the strengthening of bones, and calcium deficiency.
  2. Tablet L Car is a nutritional supplement and good for heart patients.
  3. Tablet Hifenac P is a painkiller for your pain.
  4. Tablet Renerve plus is a multivitamin supplement for healthy nerves.
  5. Tablet Razo 20 is an antacid preparation to reduce the chances of gastritis due to all the prescribed medications, especially Hifenac P.

One of the medicines, the third in the first prescription is not legible. Do you have a strip of the medicines?

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have normal calcium levels, but low vitamin D. One doctor gave me injection Arachitol, Bevon multivitamin (I am on ATT) and tablet L Car. Another doctor gave Urcal D, Renerve plus multivitamin. Which one would be a better option to go for? Will L Car have any side effect on the blood pressure? Does injection Arachitol have calcium also?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Injection Arachitol is just vitamin D. It does not have calcium. Since you are having spondylosis and pain which is likely a neuropathic pain (due to nerve compressions), Renerve plus is necessary. Next, since you have vitamin D deficiency, you should also have Urcal D. And you may continue another single multivitamin, maybeBevon.

I do not think there is any benefit of L carnitine in you, so you can stop it. Practically, oral carnitine does not have much effect on BP. However, the injection form may increase the BP to some extent. So, this is not a worrisome matter for you.
