Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My oral mucosa is peeling for three months, making the skin rough. And I am peeling it out with my tooth. There are no ulcers, and there is no pain. The doctor prescribed Flagyl, and it does not seem to work.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I hope I can lessen your discomfort.

Thanks for the pictures (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity) you have sent.

I think you are having a general deficiency of vitamins, which may be vitamin B2 and vitamin B6.

Even there are some ulcers and general roughness of the skin along with tongue problems.

I am prescribing you some medications. Please let me know after one week if you find some difference.

The Probable causes

vitamin B2 and B6.

Investigations to be done

Preventive measures

Brushing twice a day and avoid fried food for one week.

Regarding follow up

I request you to go by instructions and update me after a week if any improvement is there or not.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for the reply. I also have silent GERD and took PPI for three months. Maybe that is causing vitamin deficiency, so what dose of vitamin B6 and vitamin B2 should I take? This ulcer is because I keep pulling the skin by my tooth. It is rough and not comfortable. I am a smoker, and I smoke IQOS heets for one year now. Can you prescribe any alternative for this gel that I can find it here in my country or the chemical name for it?

Answered by Dr. Bharat Joshi

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Multivitamins already have a lot of vitamins B6 and B2, so just take any multivitamin of your choice and update me after one week. Instead of Dologel, you can use Oraheal or Soro gel. It contains Lignocaine or Methyl Salicylate as the main ingredient thanks. One thing more, stop or reduce the smoking capacity by half since it interferes with healing. Secondly, if you are a chain smoker, then it is really urgent to control the amount.

Thanks.
