Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had unprotected intercourse three days back, and now I am getting symptoms like vomiting, back pain, pain in my womb, and heavy discharge. So, should I take emergency contraceptive pills now? Will they work? Or should I take abortive pills?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your case, and I understand your concern.

Within three days, you will not get any pregnancy-related symptoms. This is too early to get that. Vomiting and pain could be because of some food or stress. Normally also, some water discharge occurs. If the discharge is not excessive and smelly then, no need to worry about that. The emergency contraceptive pill should be consumed within 72 hours of intercourse otherwise, it will not affect as expected. If you do not know about your pregnancy, then how can you consume abortion pills? I would suggest not taking such medicines without a gynecologist's advice, otherwise, it will be harmful to your health. It would have been better if I would have known your last menstrual date, so I could predict your chances of getting pregnant.

Hope this information helps you.
