What are the best tips to prevent my weight gain?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have gained weight despite repeatedly trying to lose weight.

Kindly advise.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. I am here to help you. But first, I understand your concern about weight gain. Unfortunately, you have not provided enough information to conclude. Various causes of weight gain include genetics, thyroid disorders, Cushing syndrome, anxiety, depression, polycystic ovarian syndrome, etc.

You need to provide more information about other changes to come to a diagnosis. For example, hypothyroidism causes weight gain, constipation, dry skin, cold intolerance, changes in the menstrual cycle, tiredness, etc. Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) has other features like acne, facial hair growth, menstrual irregularities, hair loss, etc.

Cushing syndrome causes low energy, diabetes, high blood pressure, changes in skin pigmentation, fatigue, etc. So I suggest you consult an endocrinologist about this.

Feel free to ask other queries if you have any.

Thank you.
