Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I just got my wisdom tooth removed an hour ago. Is it safe to swallow my spit since I cannot spit? I will not get a dry socket right? When can I take the gauze out? What are the precautions to be taken?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. Since your tooth is removed an hour ago, you need to swallow all your spit for the next 24 hours. There is no side effect of it. No dry socket. I suggest you to follow a few instructions mentioned below.

  1. Drink lots of water.
  2. Rinse mouth with salt water and turmeric mixture twice a day.
  3. Keep your mouth clean.
  4. Eat soft food.
  5. Do not speak too much.
  6. Be calm.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.
