Q. Can a yeast infection cause a thick and white discharge?
Hi doctor,
Could I be having a yeast infection if I have a whitish thick discharge. I have never seen it before. My boyfriend once went through and came out white which was unusual. Please advise.

- If there is no ulcer or redness, that could be of some local infection to avoid such infections. I suggest the following:
- Keep that area clean and dry
- Change undergarments two times in a day.
- Wash your genital with soft cleansers, clean and dry.
- If discharge is excessive, you should take a proper antibiotic course.
Is there itching also? Is the discharge smelly? Is there any burning micturition or increased frequency of urination? Does your partner have any genital infection?
